No more than a dozen blends ever sit on our shelf at once — each allocated to houses in Shanghai, Beijing, Tokyo and Kyoto before the lot is poured.

Lot Eight is poured in October. Correspondents on the list receive first option before public release — with notes on the leaf, the cure, and the day the press is broken.
